Let There Be Light

Then God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. And God saw that the light was good. Then he separated the light from the darkness. God spoke and it happened. He spoke and it was good. God’s spoken word separated the darkness from the light. Genesis 1:3-4 (NLT)

Some of the situations we face may feel like a dark cloud hovering above or tensions in our home can be so thick it can be cut with a knife. God’s word is like a two-edged sword piercing through the darkness to radiate brightness.

During Hurricane Sandy, my family lost power for 4 days so we couldn’t watch television, use the computer or talk on the phone. During the day, we read, wrote and spent time together. At night, we sought relief from the darkness with flashlights and candles. Light finally shined in dark houses by the 4th day when the power was restored. Neighbors rejoiced in the street over the end of a power outage. When God says let there be light in your finances, home, marriage, ministry, business and your body believe it will be a good thing to happen. May your cheers spill over in the street.

Jehovah Jireh, let there be light illuminating in the lives of Your children. Your word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We rejoice in You, oh Lord for have made our paths straight. We rest and take comfort in knowing our situations will come to past because you’re light shines bright in our lives. In Jesus Precious Name, Amen!
